How To Slow Down
Today feels like such a strange Monday. On Mondays I typically pride myself on being extra productive. I take the train into work an hour early. I spend the time on the train catching up with news that has happened in the East during the hours while I was sleeping, as well as any news that I perhaps missed over the weekend. I then take a look at my agenda for the day. What meetings or calls did I have booked? Any pending project deadlines for the week?

In light of the current pandemic I've had to slow down. Partly due to necessity as business volume has declined. Partly due to the fact that I need it to maintain my mental well-being. It hasn't come naturally but I'm sharing my list of the little things that I've incorporated into my new way of life and hope that you will find them helpful.
-
Start the day with a quiet breakfast and just eat. Don't read the news, surf on the phone, internet etc. Just eat.
-
Don't be obsessive about the news. Checking Covid-19 stats every few hours is not a good thing to do. I try to limit my updates to twice daily.
-
Go outdoors. Yes, stay home but if you have a patio, backyard, or balcony spend some time sipping a beverage or just relax and take in some fresh air.
-
Get physical. I enjoy barre, dance, HIIT and yoga. The fitness community has been doing an amazing job offering at home exercises on Youtube and IG.
-
Schedule quiet time. If even for just 30 minutes a day just do nothing.
