The new year, a time when resolutions are made. I've never been a believer in new year resolutions. In my opinion, it creates a sort of pressure to set the bar high and to do things that sort of conforms to societal expectations. The typical, lose weight, get fit, get promoted, get married while well-meaning doesn't always align with who we may aspire to be.

So for my first post of 2025 I'm going to leave you with some questions to ask yourself to really get to know yourself better (inspired by Brianna Wiest).

  1. What would you stand for, if you knew that nobody was judging you?

  2. Whom do you admire most, and why?

  3. Based on your current routines, where would you be in five years? Ten? Twenty?

  4. Whom from your past are you still trying to earn the acceptance of?

  5. Excluding basics such as sleeping and eating, what are the five most common things in your daily routine?

  6. What do you wish those five things were instead?

  7. What bothers you most about other people?

  8. If you didn't have to work anymore, what would you do with your time?

  9. What and who is worth suffering for?

What are the things you never thought you would get over but did?

I've sat with these questions and really gave them some serious thought. Sometimes the answer came right away and I scribbled long paragraphs into my journal. At other times I stared at an almost blank page. Came back the next day. And still drew a blank. Within the pages of your notebook/journal it's a safe space. I'd encourage you to be as clear and authentic as you can.

I'm extremely excited for 2025 and have a blueprint of things that will serve as a roadmap. This year is going to be iconic. This year will be the year that I arrive home to myself.

I'm looking forward to sharing my journey with you!
